Our internal network is 100% Cisco powered and has built-in redundancy that is second to none. State of the art, fault tolerant software utilizes hot standby router protocol (HSRP). In the event that a router or router port fails, the hot standby router will take over within 40 seconds.

The network is connected to multiple upstream providers which ensures Internet connectivity is always available to customers. Multiple providers also provide for greater route diversity which enhances Internet performance. Internet bandwidth available to customers is always maintained at 5 times our average sustained usage; when our usage goes up we buy more bandwidth…. never a bottleneck.

Dedicated Hosting Servers is part of the BC Internet Exchange (BCIX) which enhances connectivity and performance to locally available national and International carriers. We are also the only network in Vancouver that is directly connected to the Seattle Internet exchange (SIX), via our private clear channel link. As a member of SIX we are able to peer with all the other members of this fast growing exchange point, to further enhance performance for our customers.

Network Operations Centre

This facility is manned 24 hours per day, 7 days per week and its primary function is to monitor the entire network and co-location facilities, plus all company systems and equipment, including air conditioning, temperature controls, security cameras, UPS's, routers and switches.

Environment

Our facilities have been completely planned and built as Internet hosting facilities to ensure customer satisfaction. Each facility has been pre-wired with 100 Base-T Cat5 wiring; therefore, a new customer's 100 Mb Ethernet connection can be fully functional in a matter of minutes. Each facility is fully outfitted with emergency generator power that is available to all our customers. In addition to anti-static flooring and pre-action systems for fire suppression, each facility is climate controlled using multiple air conditioning units which are fed by emergency generator power. Also available is distributed UPS which provides uninterrupted power to all servers in case of temporary brownouts.

Security

The premises are patrolled 24x7 by a private security firm. Access to all doors is monitored, recorded and time stamped on a card by card basis. We have CCTV installed in the data center, and all access points are monitored 24x7 by our Network Operations staff. Access to the Network Operations Centre and adjacent hosting facility is through a highly secure "man trap", featuring both key card and key pad access, again monitored 24x7 by personnel and security cameras.
